Etymology of Word: West

I believe, and strongly suspect that the origin of the word West, is really just waste. That or the two are really closely related words.
Also, I strongly suspect that people really originate from EurAsia.
I’m a math/test-prep/ESL tutor, and I like math, programming, computers, projects, fun, art, and physical training. Also sports, games, challenges, puzzles etc.
